EDR1RXD1 (EveryDrop Filter 1) Wholesale & Cross-Reference

Guides

The EveryDrop EDR1RXD1 – also known as EveryDrop Filter 1 – is the genuine OEM refrigerator water filter made by Whirlpool, and the official replacement that supersedes the older W10295370A. Safe Appliances supplies it wholesale at dealer pricing, in bulk, with OEM quality and a low return rate. This guide covers what the EDR1RXD1 is, full specifications, what it reduces, its OEM cross-reference numbers and compatible models, how to install and maintain it, and why genuine OEM matters for resellers.

EDR1RXD1 (Filter 1) and the W10295370A it replaces

The EDR1RXD1 is the current EveryDrop Filter 1 and Whirlpool’s official replacement for the discontinued W10295370A. It is the same fit and the same filtration platform, with updated branding and certification. If your refrigerator originally shipped with a W10295370A (or one of the earlier W-series part numbers below), the EDR1RXD1 is the correct current cartridge.

What the EDR1RXD1 reduces

The genuine cartridge is certified to three NSF/ANSI standards – including NSF 401, which covers emerging contaminants:

  • NSF/ANSI 42 – aesthetic effects: chlorine taste and odor, and particulates.
  • NSF/ANSI 53 – health effects: contaminants such as lead (up to 99%) and asbestos.
  • NSF/ANSI 401 – emerging contaminants: select pesticides, trace pharmaceuticals and microplastics.

Depending on validation, genuine EveryDrop Filter 1 cartridges are certified to reduce a broad range of contaminants, delivering cleaner, better-tasting water and ice without stripping out beneficial minerals.

OEM cross-reference & compatible models

The EDR1RXD1 is the current replacement for these genuine Whirlpool OEM part numbers:

How to install or replace the EDR1RXD1

  1. Locate the cartridge – most models use a push-button bay in the upper-right interior ceiling, or a twist-and-lock filter behind the base grille.
  2. For interior push-button bays: press the button or the old filter to release it and pull it straight out. For base-grille filters: turn about a quarter turn and pull out.
  3. Insert the new EDR1RXD1 and push or twist until it locks – no tools needed.
  4. Run about 3-4 gallons through the dispenser to flush carbon fines and clear trapped air.
  5. Reset the filter-status indicator (press and hold the filter or reset button for about 3 seconds).

When to replace and maintenance

Replace about every 6 months or 200 gallons, whichever comes first. Replace sooner if you notice:

  • Reduced water or ice dispenser flow;
  • A returning chlorine taste or odor;
  • The filter-status indicator turning red;
  • Cloudy or off-tasting water.

An exhausted carbon block stops reducing contaminants effectively and can restrict flow. The regular 6-month cycle also makes the EDR1RXD1 a strong repeat-order item for resellers.

Why genuine OEM

Genuine OEM EveryDrop EDR1RXD1 cartridges guarantee exact fit and the full NSF/ANSI 42, 53 and 401 performance – including the emerging-contaminant reduction many lower-cost cartridges do not carry. For retailers and repair companies, that keeps returns and callbacks low, which protects margin on volume and builds repeat trust with end customers.

Troubleshooting

  • No or slow water after replacement: make sure the cartridge is fully seated and locked, then flush trapped air by running the dispenser.
  • Sputtering or air in the line: normal for the first minute or two after a change – keep flushing until the stream is steady.
  • Cloudy water: usually trapped air, which is harmless and clears after flushing.
  • Filter will not seat: confirm the configuration (push-button bay vs base-grille) and that you have the correct EDR1RXD1.
  • Leaking: re-seat the cartridge, confirm it is the correct model, and check the seal.
