Finding the right refrigerator water filter comes down to two things: your fridge’s model or filter part number, and where the filter sits. Use the finder below, or jump to “where is my filter located” to identify yours by refrigerator type.

Where is my filter located?
Filter placement depends on your refrigerator type — pick yours:
Top Freezer
Many basic top-freezer models have no built-in cartridge — they use an inline filter on the water line behind the fridge. If yours has a door dispenser, check the base (kickplate) grille along the bottom front.
Bottom Freezer
Look inside the fresh-food compartment — usually the upper-right corner or along the top-left ceiling. Some models hide it behind the base grille at the bottom front.
French Door
Most often inside the fresh-food section, upper-right corner or top-center. Many newer French-door models place the filter in the base grille at the bottom front.
Side-by-Side
Commonly in the base grille (bottom-front kickplate), or inside at the top of the refrigerator side. Twist-style and push-button releases are both common here.
4-Door French Door
Inside the fresh-food area (upper-right or top) or in the base grille. On flex-zone / quad models, check near the top of the main fresh-food compartment first.
