How to Verify Genuine Frigidaire Water Filters

Guides

Genuine Frigidaire filters are worth verifying, because Frigidaire PureSource filters are among the most counterfeited refrigerator filters on the market. For stores and service companies, one fake batch means returns, leaks, and lost trust. Here is how to verify genuine Frigidaire water filters.

Verify part numbers and certification

Genuine vs aftermarket Frigidaire filters

  • Water quality: uncertified carbon may leave chlorine taste and contaminants.
  • Leaks: PureSource housings are tight-tolerance; aftermarket shells crack and drip.
  • Warranty and liability: water damage from a fake filter is on the seller/installer.

    Frequently Asked Questions

How do I verify a genuine Frigidaire (PureSource) water filter?

Genuine Frigidaire/Electrolux PureSource filters carry clear PureSource branding, a molded model number (ULTRAWF, EPTWFU01, WF3CB, etc.), and NSF/ANSI certification marks. Check for sharp, correctly-spelled, on-color printing, clean factory packaging, and a price that isn’t far below normal, and buy from authorized sellers. The most reliable check is to match the exact part number printed on your current cartridge.

Are ULTRAWF and EPTWFU01 the same filter?

No – they are different, non-interchangeable cartridges. ULTRAWF is the PureSource Ultra: a long, slim (~11″) cylinder that slides straight in and clicks (common on Frigidaire models built around 2009-2015). EPTWFU01 is the newer PureSource Ultra II: shorter and wider, inserted and twisted 90 degrees to lock (2015 and newer models). Verify which you need by pulling the existing cartridge and reading its part number, or by whether your housing takes a straight push (ULTRAWF) or a quarter-turn (EPTWFU01).

    What about WF3CB (PureSource 3)?

WF3CB (PureSource 3) is a different form factor again, used on other Frigidaire units, and is not interchangeable with the Ultra cartridges. Always match by the OEM number printed on your old filter or listed in your refrigerator’s manual.

Which NSF standards and contaminants do these cover?

Frigidaire PureSource filters are certified to NSF/ANSI standards, but the exact standards and contaminant reduction vary by cartridge – check the current NSF listing or the product page for the specific SKU. Genuine cartridges keep the certified performance; non-certified compatibles may not meet the same claims.

Do you supply genuine Frigidaire filters at wholesale?

Yes. Safe Appliances offers authentic Frigidaire/Electrolux cartridges in case quantities with B2B pricing for distributors, resellers and repair shops. Send your models and quantities for a quote.
